Family:Juncaceae

Common Name:sword-leaved rush
Habitat:**
Associated Ecological Communities:**
Growth Habit:Herbaceous
Duration:Perennial

Plant Notes:This species is native in western North America. The nativity status in New York is questionable. It has previously been considered native along the Delaware River, but due to the long disjunct nature of populations in New York, presence along natural disturbance of river corridors, and additional reports recently appearing elsewhere in the northeastern U.S. (e.g. Vermont), we agree with Clemants's (2000) suggestion that it is nonnative within New York.
